Must have for new parents living in an apartmentJul 24, 2010 I bought the washer one year ago, primarily to wash baby clothes. After 1 year of daily wash, I recommend this washer to every parent friend who lives in apartment.
Saves time
- no laundry room, no more waiting for a machine, no need to look for quarters
- can do laundry when baby and mother nap
Saves money
- using the washer daily for 1 year more than pays for the cost of the washer and electricity
- basically you only need 2-3 days supply of baby clothes/bibs/wash clothes
I bought this Haier washer after seeing it in a friend's apartment, and it quickly became the workhorse in my household. It runs every day to wash baby items - bibs, clothes, sheets, blankets, etc. The water level can be adjusted to low, medium, or high to accommodate for different load. The washer fits in the bathroom and is easy to operate.
I recommend reading the manual carefully before you install or use it. For the first few washes, watch it carefully for leaks. The hose that came with the machine was too short for me, so I bought a longer hose from a local hardware store to connect the washer to the faucet. At first the hose was stiff and it leaked at the connector when doing a cold wash. Luckily, after washing 1-2 loads with warm water, the problem disappeared. A very satisfied user ever since!
so dissatisfiedJul 14, 2010 i got m washer 1 day ago, got home from work all excited to go do my washing, so i read the box to make sure it was the right one, which it said hlp21n, so i opened it up, only to find out that my lint filterwas not there. knew that the box already came apart so there was no way of returning it, so i decided to do my laundry .....was quite satisfied with the cleanilness of my clothes for the first time n years compared to the laundromarts......please be aware that there is the cheaper hlp21n, thas has no lint filter and there is the more expensive hlp21n that has the lint filter..i do not understand how they can both be identifed by the same code, it is very ridiculous, because thats the reason my order was mixed up, i do hope i get a refund from hi -tech media, because their reputation is going down the line.
good productApr 16, 2010 I have been using this washer for my baby's clothes and I would say I am happy with it. I am being using this for about 4 months and works perfect. I also bought the haier dryer but that one stopped working two months after purchase and haier customer service is horrible, buy another brand dryer.

Perfect for City LivingApr 15, 2010 My husband and I received this as a wedding gift and couldn't be happier. We live in a fourth floor walk-up and taking stuff to the laundry mat at the end of the blog was always a huge ordeal. Now, we can do laundry through-out the week in our own place, it's really a luxury! The thing is pretty small though so you have to be careful you don't overload it and make sure that you have the hose properly secured otherwise water can start spewing out all over the place.

Hose leaves clothes with a smell!Mar 14, 2010 This is a decent washer - you do have to wash everything on heavy cycle (which takes a long time) to get your clothes as clean as you would in a regular washer. I also expected the churning to be constant like a regular washer - I don't know why it's intermittent. However biggest issue with this unit is the chemical smell (like petroleum) that is left on your clothes from using it. That's right! I called customer service about this and they said they use a chemical rinse and to try a little vinegar water in the unit, which I did. Did not help. Through trial and error, I finally figured out that cold water washes do not leave the smell, which means the residue is coming from the input hose. I have tried rinsing that hose with vinegar and baking soda too. The best thing is just to wash only in cold, which I do.
The lint basket is also VERY difficult to get out, and you must clean this after each wash. Even the customer service rep. admitted it was extremely difficult to remove.
Because of these obvious design flaws I've given it only 3 stars, but I put up with these as it's still so much more convenient than the laundromat.
