Great little grillJul 29, 2010 I love my mini webber. Used it at our last barbeque outing and it worked great. Easy to transport and to use. I highly recommend.
Camping/Tailgating MUST have!Jul 22, 2010 I researched and researched and this was our pick! We've taken it to Yosemite a few times and it worked perfectly! Easy to cook and pack, it does the job! My picky grill husband loves it too! We've used it for tailgating since charcoal is out at some stadiums, the grill got a lot of praises! Absolutely would buy it again. Just an FYI the ignitor works too good, watch the eye brows when starting it up (might just be ours).
Go-Anywhere GrillJul 15, 2010 We haven't stopped using this handy little grill since we got it. We love the convenience of the grill, and the flavor is great. We use the 16 oz cannisters with it. They work out just fine. We purchased the cannisters at Lowe's because they offered the best price. Highly recommend this grill.
We brag about this little gem all the time.Jul 11, 2010 I just have to add our two cents. We've had this unit for about 10 years. We use it many times every summer camping. Great for space conservation. Great for reliability. Starts up quick and does a super fabulous job. We just love it!! It's true, after 10 years, the starter has gone, and the bottom tray is starting to rust out - but 10 years!! Who could complain? We'll definitely be buying this model again as the replacement:)
Not as good as I expected - update 7/24/10Jul 11, 2010 I got my go-anywhere on Tuesday, July 6th. I thought it was going to be bigger, but it still accommodates enough for 2 people which is all I need. I was dissappointed with the connection of the regulator valve. Most gas grills I've seen use the threaded connection. This told me right away that this grill is prone to being blown out with the slightest strong wind. That, indeed, is true. Everytime a wind came along that was somewhat strong, the flame went out. So, I won't leave it for very long without checking to see if it is still on. UPDATE - but it did cook evenly. And, when I adjusted the dial to a setting between medium and low, it didn't burn my food. It did take a long time - but, when I use a grill, I want it to take a long time because it just makes me feel better about the food being cooked all the way through so the long cook time didn't bother me. And, the handle on the lid gets hot sometimes. But, I expect that being that heat rises and the lid handle is on top of the grill. No big deal to me. Other than that, this seems to be a really good grill. I don't know how long it will last, but I know Weber has been around for a long time so I will see. The igniter actually works for me. Others have said that it won't light or causes an explosion. I think that is because they didn't pay attention to the instructions and make sure the wire is 1/8" from the burner tube. The picture doesn't look like 1/8" but it does say it. I'll finish my review after I examine my grill more during the cleaning process.
update 7/24/10
It's true what has been said about the ignitor not working properly. Mine quit starting the grill after the first couple of weeks. I think it is because I was using the grill for heavy smoking from wood chips and very fatty chicken leg quarters though (chicken thighs are very fatty if the fat isn't taken off). Another thing is that I was using the grill inside a small room that did not have very much ventilation so the grill got hotter than what it would have if it was an open space such as outside. As hard as this may be to believe, the grill was actually overheating and flaming up on all sides. It even caught on fire a couple of times! That's when the ignitor quit working. But, thankfully, Weber sent me another ignitor free of charge and it is working again, but I'm not sure how long. I am going to try it again next weekend to see if it will make it through the smoking wood chips outside in the open air.
**NOTE THIS ABOUT UNEVEN COOKING - One thing I noticed is that my grill cooked perfectly the first time I used it before I took it apart to clean it. It cooked very evenly. If your grill doesn't cook evenly, check to make sure the burner tube is aligned at the proper angle. This means make sure that it is not tilted to the right or left causing either side of the holes that the flames come from to be pointed toward the bottom or upward part of the grill. This will cause uneven cooking. My grill didn't cook even after I cleaned it because I didn't make sure the burner tube was at a 90-degree angle, but it didn't dawn on me that this could be part of the problem until I was replacing the ignitor and noticed it. This was after I had almost started to believe everyone's reviews about the uneven cooking. It just seems logical that this would cause uneven heating. This is also something I will test next weekend and update this review afterwards.
